Alisa is an amazing educator and leader!  Her knowledge of PLCs is beyond what we could have hoped for as a staff.  She was able to successfully get our faculty on track with what PLCs are, how they can help us and how we should begin.  It can be overwhelming to know very little about how to implement PLCs, but Alisa gave sound advice that has worked for our school over and over again.  As educators, we want professional development sessions that mean something to us and help us change and improve as instructors.  This is what Alisa did for us!  Thank you!

I still remember the day. Alisa had come in for an observation and had given me some feedback on our online platform. It ended with “You have a gift, and you should be proud of yourself.” At this point, I was just trying to survive my first year of urban education. I had “failed” at my previous school, so she surely had the wrong person. From that day on, I saw myself as a successful educator because if Alisa says it, then she means it. It makes me feel lucky because not all educators get to have an “Alisa”, that person that demands high expectations but is your cheerleader at the same time. I hope you get to experience it, too, through her coaching and professional development sessions!

AK Educational Consulting hit on the heart strings of our teachers answering many questions they had and didn’t know they had on why student behaviors and actions are occurring in and out of their classroom.  Teachers were chomping at the bit to dive into the next phase of our training after Alisa’s first training on trauma for our corporation.

I really enjoyed the training today! I feel like I have a better understanding of trauma [and] how to approach it in the classroom.

I cannot thank you enough for your presentation on Monday afternoon. I felt as if I was back in grad school taking all the notes and soaking in your tangible insight!

You had an amazing and useful presentation. We have talked a lot about trauma-informed practices in our school. Sometimes the approach comes off as vague, so it’s great to get concrete interventions which emphasizes relationships.

I attended the MSCA conference a couple weeks ago, and I was fortunate enough to go to your session.  I felt it was the most beneficial one I attended while there.  You did a great job!

Just wanted to say thanks for your training so far. I am currently working on my Master’s in School Administration and am currently in Cultural Competency and Social-Emotional Learning, and I’ve been able to reference the information in [your] presentations several times so far in various papers. It’s been a big help! Thanks!

It was a treat to have you here yesterday. The staff took so much away from your valuable training with us. It was so insightful!

-Michael J., Cleveland, OH

Thanks so much! It was a wonderful PD! You were great to work with!

Thanks again for all of your time and for your thoughtful presentation.  I’ve been to a lot of full-day PDs over my last 10 years as a teacher, and yours ranks as one of the most engaging that I’ve ever been to.

I can’t thank you enough for coming to share with our teachers. I have heard nothing but positive things. They were extremely engaged, they had fun, they learned so much. I’ve enjoyed talking with teachers and hearing them say, “these behaviors make so much sense now.”, or, “I have these tools that I’m excited to try with this student.” I’m looking forward to seeing how this affects our school culture, and I hope to work together again in the future!

Thank you so much for taking the time to be a speaker for the 2022 NASW Conference! I had the pleasure of joining your session on strategies to connect with kids. I think you brought a lot of excellent ideas, especially being an advocate.
